When you are saving money, the interest yield may be reduced by the tax on interest earned.
This is a tool to calculate the tax reduction, the net interest and the paying out
when the amount of the investment, the interest rate and the period of time are given.
This calculator calculates simple interest, and not compound interest.
Usage:
Type the amount of the investment and the interest rate per year into the corresponding fields.
After a mouse click on any free space of the window or on the "calculate" button
the calculation is performed.
The preset period of time (12 months) and the rate of the tax on interest earned (25 %)
may be changed, corresponding to the conditions. The fields with pink background are used for output only.
For another calculation with other values just type these into the
corresponding fields. In the case that you want to do another calculation with completely
different input, click on the "reset" button.
Example: You want to invest 10000 € for half a year with an annual interest rate of 4.1 % p.a.
Type "10000" and "4.1" into the corresponding input fields and change the
period of time to "6" months.
After a mouse click on any free space of the window or on the "calculate" button
you can read the result:
The interest yield amounts to 205 €. This is reduced by 51.25 € (25 %) as tax.
Therefore the net interest is 153.75 € corresponding to 1.5375 % of the original investment.
At the end of the period 10153.75 € are paid back.
Remarks:
- Large and small numbers are written exponentially. As example
2.3e5 = 2.3⋅105 = 230000 or
4.5e-5 = 4.5⋅10-5 = 0.000045.
- There is no warranty for the conversion. Cactus2000 is not

conversions to be included.
