This calculator can be used to convert prices from one currency to another
or to calculate the exchange rate from two prices.
Usage:
Type the exchange rate between two currencies A and B into the suitable one of the
two fields on top. Then type the price of a good in one of the currencies into the
corresponding field below. The calculation is performed after a mouse click
on a free space of the window or on the "calculate"-button.
When you change a value, the conversion is calculated with the new value after
a futher mouse click on a free space of the window or on the
"calculate"-button. To delete a calculation completely, click on the
"reset"-button.
When no exchange rate is given and you type in the prices of a good in both
currencies, the exchange rate is calculated. This rate will be used afterwards
to convert more prices.
Example: The exchange rate between the currencies A and B is
1.34 (1 A = 1.34 B). Some goods cost 499 B. How much is this price in the
currency A ? Type the exchange rate (1 A =1.34 B) and the price in the currency B
into the corresponding fields. After the next mouse click on any free space of the
window or on the "calculate"-button you can read the result
(372.39 A).
You are traveling in a car from a country with the currency A into a country
with the currecy B. Unfortunately, you forgot before, to get informed about the
exchange rate. You assume, that petrol costs about the same in both countries.
For example, one liter of petrol costs 1.22 A. At a filling station you see the price
of 34.2 B for 1 liter.
At first click on the "reset"-button.
Then type the two values into the corresponding fields at the
bottom. After the next mouse click on any free space of the window or on the
"calculate"-button you can read the estimated exchange rate
(1 A = 28.033 B, 1 B = 0.036 A)
