This speed converter is specially suited for questions concerning some sports, like running.
In the upper half, all distances are given in kilometres. In the lower part you find speed units
with miles. Users, who do not want to convert between miles and kilometres may reduce
the size of the popup window, accordingly.
Usage: Type the speed you want to convert into the field (bright),
behind which you find the unit.
Click on any free space of the window or the "calculate" button
and read the results in the other fields.
In the lower three rows of the two blocks there are fields (dark) for input of an arbitrary
time or distance. By clicking at any free space of the window or on the "calculate"
buttonyou may recalculate a speed after the change.
Use the "reset" button to reset your calculation.
Examples: A runner needs 7 min 30 sec for a distance of 1 km.
What time would he need with constant speed for 10 km ?
Type "7" and "30" into the min- ans sec-field in the 3. line, respectively.
Click on any free space of the window or the "calculate" button.
Read the result in the first field in the last line of the upper block (1 hour 15 min).
If you want to know, which time this runner would need with the same speed for 15 miles,
type "15" into the distance field in the bottom line. Click again on any free space
of the window or on the "calculate" button
and read the result in the bottom line (3 hours and 1.051 min, corresponding to 3 h 1 min 3 sec).
Another runner needs 9.78 sec for 100 m. What is his average speed ? Type "97.8" into the
"sec/km" field. Click on any free space of the window or on the "calculate"
button. Read the result in the field in the top lines of the two blocks
(36.81 km/h or 22.873 mi/h).

Remarks:
- Large and small numbers are written exponentially. As example
2.3e5 = 2.3⋅105 = 230000 or
4.5e-5 = 4.5⋅10-5 = 0.000045.
