Pressure is either given as absolute pressure, with the vacuum as reference,
or as gauge pressure (relative pressure) with another pressure (often 1 atm)
as reference. This calculator converts values of absolute to gauge pressure
and vice versa in several units.
Usage:
Type the given value into the coresponding field.
After the next mouse click on any free space of the window or the
"calculate"-button the calculation is performed.
Read the wanted result.
Use the "reset" button to reset your calculation.
Move the mouse over a unit or click on it to read its full name.
As reference pressure 1 atm is prescribed. You can change this value to other values
or to other units (from the pull-down menu). The new calculation is always performed
after the next mouse click.
Example:
A typical overpressure of a bicycle tyre is PG = 65 psi.
What is the value of the pressure as absolute pressure in bar?
Type the given value (65 psi) into the corresponding field.
After the next mouse click on any free space of the window or the
"calculate"-button you can read the result (about 5.5 bar).
